Thursday - Day 130 - Wild Dunes Women

We picked up my sister and two friends at the airport this morning.   We were excited and happy to see one another.  Five women were together ready to take on the world.

We stopped for a wild toad grocery run.  We all zig zagged around the store, fulfilling all our foodie needs.  I'm not really sure how we piled two mini carts of groceries, including a case of Corona and a case of bottled water into my Jeep.  Especially, considering there were five large suitcases, a cooler and a ton of other bags stuffed into the truck, but we did it and I was thoroughly impressed.

We checked into our beautiful condo, unpacked and headed to the beach.  The beach was crowded.  It was jammed packed like my trunk.  Umbrellas, chairs and people for miles down the beach.  We carved out a small spot and laid five towels side by side.  We had arrived.  The ladies were on vacation.

Margaret, Chelley, Kathleen, and Lori.
Fabulous Fun!

The water was rough, but warm.  The waiters were overworked, but friendly.  We were pleasantly surprised how the entire day unfolded effortlessly.  .

After we moved twice to avoid the tide coming in and felt we were adequately sun kissed, we headed back to the room to get ready.  We were planning our evening out at The Windjammer Beach bar for eighties night.

We were fortunate to get a free lift to town in the hotel shuttle and we danced the night away.  Fireworks and champagne on the beach were only a few of the highlights.  Reminiscing to old school music is always a good time no matter where you are.  It was a great mix of young and old people, equally enjoying the band, who were barely old enough to remember the eighties.  Funny how time transcends itself.
