Thursday - Day 137 - Frog Friends

James is obsessed with frogs.  He gets home from school and all he wants to do is find frogs under the RV, capture them and play with them.

Once upon a time, James had a pet frog from Georgia.  He loved that silly frog and moved him to Texas with us.  We bought a plastic cage for the frog and John caught crickets in our garage for it.

named 'Froggar"

The frog was well taken care of until we decided to buy crickets at the local pet store and the frog died soon after.  I swear we got a bad batch.

It was difficult, but I had James throw the entire frog, cage and all into the dumpster at our apartment complex.  James was sad, but he learned a valuable lesson, sometimes even when we love something, it can die.

James would hold 2 little legs,
and make 'froggar' dance.

These days James has all the pet frogs he wants.  He catches at least one a day, sometimes two.  He also catches lizards, but he has a special obsession with all the frogs at the campground, big ones and little ones, there's a frog size to suit all his frog needs.

James puts the frogs in all sorts of containers, cups, in his snorkel gear, he pulled his old tricycle horn off and put a frog in the squishy horn piece.  It's all about how to contain a frog after it's captured.

(There is a big and little one in the bucket)

I always tell James he needs to let the frogs go after a while and not to accidentally kill them.  I believe he cares about them and won't do them harm.  I'm just praying I don't find any frogs in our beds.  I'll be the one checking the sheets every night from now on.
