Thursday - Day 81 - Black & Blue

Flying to New York has become a twice a year ritual to spend time with my family. This weekend our trip would be extra special, it was planned to attend a friend's wedding. It also worked out my niece's college graduation would be the same weekend.

We dropped Rabbit off at the doggy spa early in the day. That silly dog will get tons of attention and a much needed bath.

Right before we left for the airport, John and I were managing some last minute clean up. James starts knocking on the RV door. "Come in!" I yelled loudly, "Rabbit isn't even here!"

Normally, James will knock on the door before coming in, so the dog will not run out. He and I have a little system that works really well.

James, however, wasn't knocking on the door for this reason, he was knocking because he could not open the door. We heard him crying soon after be knocked.

John let James in and James quickly stuck his pinky finger out. It was black and blue and it hurt very bad. Tears flowed down his face as he told his story. He had smashed his finger in the Suburban car door trying to retrieve his water bottle.

He could not open the door, which is why
he was knocking. He was so sad, but by the time we were on the airplane he was able to take a photo of his own finger.

I told him he would get tons of sympathy from his aunts and grandma once we arrived in New York. He smiled and looked out the window. His world expanding each and every day.
